5 Facebook Features Your Business Needs To Know About

If you didn’t already catch on that Facebook is aiming to be the one-stop-shop of social platforms, look again. With so many features on Facebook already, and many more to be added, it can be hard to keep up with all of the new updates.

Keeping up with these new features is vital for your business’s social media marketing success. You never know what update could be utilized on your business page to further engage with current and potential customers. As a business owner wearing many hats, it can be hard to dedicate time for this kind of research. Don’t worry, I’ve done the work for you.

I’ve scoured the app and indentified five key features that you need to start utilizing today.

Offers

Facebook Offers are digital coupons that you can create on your business page, post and promote to your customers, and track behind the scenes. Want to giveaway a free item to your customers? A percentage or dollar off of a purchase? Whether you want to do an online or in-store promotion, this feature will be helpful to your business.

When you go to your page to post an update, look for the “Create An Offer” button. From there, you can add photos, a description, expiration date, online checkout code, disclaimers, and limit on how many coupons can be used. Once you’re happy with the offer, you can post and boost the offer to get in front of more people. When it comes across a customer’s timeline, they can save the offer and redeem it at the time of purchase, either in-store or online.

Job Postings

Click “Publish a job post” in the bottom right corner.

No matter your business industry or the type of employees you need, you can now post job listings from your business’s Facebook page. Facebook users can also search for job listings in their area and by type of work, from full to part-time.

While this may not be engaging directly with your customers, it can still help you find more qualified candidates that will help grow your business. This feature makes it easier to target potential candidates and view their Facebook profiles. Many employers already check the social media accounts of applicants, so Facebook has just made it easier for you to find top-quality candidates.

Facebook Wifi

Do you offer free Wifi to patrons of your business? What if there was a way that your customers could give your business a little extra shoutout in order to use it? Good news!

Facebook offers a way for your customers to “unlock” your Wifi by checking in at your business on Facebook. This tool not only lets your customers tell their friends about your business, but you can also share special offers with them through this tool as well.

Through “Place Tips” under “Settings” on your business page, you can also add a custom greeting when customers visit your business. This custom greeting can include announcements, deals of the day, and recommendations.

Community

When Facebook users check in and post photos at your business, these posts will populate under what is called the “Community” tab. This tab is located on your business’s Facebook page on the mobile app, and let’s users see what other people are saying about your business.

Encourage your customers to check in and share photos (this should be easy with the wifi tip above ;)) to let other people know what they love about your business!

It’s also a feature you can use to pull organic, User-Generated Content to share on your page and give a shoutout to your customers.

Facebook Audience Network

The FAN is not a new feature, as it was first released back in 2014. However, a lot of business owners still are not aware of this feature. When you create a Facebook Ad in Business Manager, you can choose to have your ads placed in more places than just Facebook and Instagram. Facebook works with a number of publishers and apps to place ads within content that your target audience is reading or traveling to after Facebook.

That’s right, your ads can literally follow your audience as they’re reading those random Buzzfeed lists or an ABC News article that they found on Facebook.

With so many features, it can definitely be a lot to take in. Don’t worry! If you need help taking advantage of those features for your business, give us a call.
