It is the quintessential social media site, and almost every business owner has one (though every business should have one), but are you using yours correctly? At what point is it time to cut off your Facebook ties and hand it over to someone else? Try this quiz to see.

  1. Do you have a business page on Facebook

    a. There’s a business page?

    b. Yes, set up as a business page and everything

    c. I have a page, but it’s not set up as a business page

    d. I just use my page. I already have my friends on it

  1. How often do you post?

    a. Darn, I knew I forgot something!

    b. Once a day, maybe twice if something comes up.

    c. At least three times a day – breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

    d. Whenever I darn well please. It’s my page, who cares?

  2. Do you have personal photos on your page?

    a. I can’t figure out how to make a profile image, let alone post them!

    b. Only when it is something business related, such as an event we held or showing we’re a family business

    c. I have a few, just birthday parties and anniversaries. Letting people join in family celebrations.

    d. Tons! I love my family, so should everyone else!

  3. What do you do when someone leaves a negative comment or review?

    a. They can write reviews on Facebook, too?

    b. I will respond in a polite manner, asking if there is a way we can contact them to resolve the matter at hand.

    c. Probably just delete it. I don’t need that kind of publicity

    d. Depends on the comment. Probably let them know how it is. I’m not taking any crap from anyone.

Unless you honestly answered B to every one of these, it may be time to take a step back from you Facebook. Like it or not, social media is the way the purchasing power is shifting.
